The Ogilvy reunion

Day six, 5th May.
A typical bleak morning greeted us and you could see the cold shimmering on the rooftops. The artist went out for his early morning coffee and then to visit more local galleries, while the planner assumed temporary pushing duties and took the payer on  a double decker bus - lower level off course, but straight up a ramp onto the bus - such efficiency, and down across the Thames to a local hair salon near Laura Janes. The pavements were rocky and uneven and the little square was cobbled so the loaned wheelchair from Emirates was deteriorating rapidly. Grannie welcomed the warmth of the hairdressers, where the eccentric Italian with 16 pairs of scissors in an original leather pouch hanging round his waist had his asian and spanish assistants give Grannie a most welcome hair wash and blow dry. Stewart met us at the square and we resorted to the road surface to avoid the uneven pavements and hopefully keep the wheelchair alive till the end of the bank holiday long weekend.
The long awaited Ogilvy reunion was great sucess. All four children and their partners and offspring were present including Shamus and Diarmids delightful 2yr olds, Angus and Ivo. Grannie was in heaven and fullfilled the role of Queen for a day to honour Laura Janes theme of a Jubilee luncheon. We had Coronation chicken, salads and delicious desserts baked by Charlotte. Diarmid brought the bubbles and Stewart was quite at home with the English gentry conversing at length about the state of the art scene in England. It was a rare occaision for the Ogilvy clan to gather and the 'old nanny - Penny', was honoured to have been the impetus for such a memorable occasion. Famillies, it seems are no different around the world and the differences so often lead to quite anti social behaviour so the Fulljames clan of 'P's' were reminded of there very unique bond and ability to share adventures such as this so amicably.
We departed late and retired after a very enjoyable  reunion.

  1. Nice to see all the clan gathered. Who is the dark haired one behind your left shoulder? And did Marina inquire as to my whereabouts perhaps?
